Personal Project- Modelling and Lighting

For model I’ve use several references to get the correct feel my world as I don’t have access to these items in my country references really helped me through this part of my project, also many of the items are themed from several different regions to correspond with my projects storyline.

I separated the my island into 2 sections residential and commercial as I didn’t get the chance to explore the residential side, I was thankful I had the commercial side modelled before Christmas as my laptop broke down and had to be fixed this took 2 weeks and put me behind on my schedule. Luckily my laptop was back to normal after this time but I quickly realised I hadn’t enough time to complete what I had originally planned and with the university being closed I had no other option but to work with what I originally had. The outcome of what I’ve produced was quite satisfying and I was pleased with the final look.

As I am doing concept art as my chosen topic I felt it was necessary to do the marketplace in 3D as I have been struggle trying to draw this conceptually and with Maya’s aid I felt I demonstrated what was in my head better then I could ever do digitally or on paper. Sometimes I find it easier working in 3D space then I do on paper as I can see perspective better.
